This guide provides a selection of resources to consult when researching Mexican law. The Mexican Legal System tab provides some background information for those unfamiliar with the Mexican government structure and legal system. If you understand the system, the How to do Mexican Legal Research tab will help you decipher where you should begin. If you know what you want, but not exactly where to find it, the primary sources and secondary sources tabs will be the best starting point. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask a law librarian for assistance.
The information in this guide is derived from The Mexican Legal System: A Comprehensive Research Guide, 3rd ed. (2013), by Francisco A. Avalos.
