Library Tip: Using the Book Cabinet and Scanners

We know textbooks can be expensive (and cumbersome), so the Law Library is here to help! If you need to access a required textbook, you can temporarily check it out from the book cabinet and use the scanners to scan the pages you need. It’s easy! Just follow the steps below. Please remember, we keep one copy of all required textbooks on Course Reserves for everyone's use. We appreciate all of you working together to ensure that these books are available to everyone.

  1. Swipe your CatCard to open the book cabinet (located next to the circulation desk)

  1. Remove the book you need from the shelf and close the cabinet – this will automatically check the book out in your name for 2 hours!

  1. Use the scanners (located across from the cabinet) to scan the pages or sections you need. NOTE: for the scanner directly across from the cabinet you’ll need to place the pages facing up, and for the smaller scanner on the table you’ll need to place the pages facing down.

  1. Return the book to the cabinet – once you return the book and close the cabinet it will automatically run inventory and take note of your return.

As always, if you encounter any problems or have any questions, come talk to us at the circulation desk or email us at circulation@law-arizona.libanswers.com.

See you in the library!
