This guide covers sources of legal secondary and practice materials specific and related to Arizona, including continuing treatises, forms, legal education publications, handbooks, manuals, law reviews, journals, legal newspapers, and directories. The lists are categorized by broad subject.
Unless noted otherwise, the materials are available in print in the law library in the Arizona section or in locked storage. Place requests for items in locked storage at the Circulation Desk.
Online access to these materials varies. Some are available freely. Others are available only through a subscription database such as Westlaw or Lexis:
- Westlaw provides online access to its print Arizona Practice Series and Arizona Legal Forms books.
- You can also access Arizona Pattern Jury Instructions (Civil & Criminal), Arizona Jury Verdicts & Settlements, Arizona Form Finder, and Practical Law-Arizona on Westlaw.
- Access to Westlaw is limited to law students and faculty.
- Lexis provides online access to many of the State Bar of Arizona publications, as well as Arizona Pattern Jury Instructions (Civil & Criminal), and Arizona Jury Verdicts & Settlements.
- Access to Lexis is limited to law students and faculty.
- Nexis Uni, an academic search engine with access to legal materials, is available to all university students, staff, and faculty. If off campus, Net ID and password required.
- Access to Nexis Uni is available to public patrons when on campus.
- The State Bar of Arizona offers publications addressing more than 40 areas of law practice written by hundreds of experienced and respected practitioners, judges, and professionals.
- A full catalog of publications, as well as electronic documents, and self-study DVD rentals are available, as well as Continuing Legal Education (CLE) materials on the State Bar website.
- The Law Library maintains a collection of the print materials available from the State Bar of Arizona.
